Boiserie and wainscoting

Traditional boiserie uses raised and fielded panels with chair-rail and cornice mouldings sized to your ceiling height. We replicate existing profiles in Verona palazzi or design simplified contemporary sections for new builds. Panels are mounted on battens with a ventilated cavity behind, which helps in older buildings with uneven masonry.

Slatted and fluted surfaces

Vertical oak slats at 20–40 mm centres add texture without overwhelming a room. CNC routing produces consistent fluted columns and reeded details for headboards and feature walls. Slatted screens can conceal storage or services while allowing air movement — useful behind radiators and AV units.

Acoustic treatment

Joinery-backed acoustic panels combine slatted timber faces with mineral wool or PET felt absorbers. We calculate coverage for dining rooms and home cinemas where reverberation is a problem. Panel heights and joint lines are aligned with door heads and window cills for a deliberate, architectural look.

Installation on historic walls

Fixings are selected to suit substrate — nylon plugs in stone, screw fixings into timber studs, or adhesive systems where drilling is restricted in listed interiors. We template around sockets and skirting irregularities on site. A typical living room with three panelled walls takes two to three weeks to manufacture and two days to install.

Cost guidance

Standard boiserie panelling runs €280–€420 per square metre fitted, depending on moulding complexity and timber species. Slatted feature walls start around €320 per square metre. Full dining room packages including cornice and dado rail typically fall between €9,500 and €16,000.
